France Cadet est une véritable artiste de l’hybridation art-science. De sa formation en bio- logie elle en a gardé un goût pour l’anatomie. Ni technophobe, ni technophile, elle questionne le rapport que nous entretenons avec la technologie. Elle s’intéresse aux mutations technologiques de notre monde, à notre devenir cyborg, notre fusion avec la machine.
Elle dirige l'atelier robotique de l’école Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence, et a enseigné à la renommée School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Ses œuvres ont été récompensées par VIDA 6.0 (Madrid, 2003), les Digital Stadium Awards (Tokyo, 2004) et elles figurent dans la collection du MEIAC (Badajoz, 2006).
France Cadet (b. 1971) is a French hybrid artist- scientist. Her training in biology left her with a taste for anatomy. Neither technophobe nor technophile, she examines our relationship to technology. She is interested in the technological transformations of our world, in our becoming cyborg, in our fusion with the machine.
Ms. Cadet is the head of the robotics lab at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence and taught at the renowned School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her works have won prizes at VIDA 6.0 (Madrid, 2003) and the Digital Stadium Awards (Tokyo, 2004). They feature in the MEIAC collection (Badajoz, 2006).
