Young Joo Lee est une artiste sud-coréenne à Paris, entre animation, dessin, sculpture, performance et numérique. Après avoir vécu en Corée, Allemagne, USA, Canada et France, elle explore comment des savoirs autochtones centrés sur les femmes peuvent réparer les crises écologiques et sociales. Ancrée dans le dessin et l’écriture, elle mêle mythologie, archéologie, science et pop culture en mondes spéculatifs, avec humour et contradiction, pour questionner les idéologies dominantes et rencontrer « l’autre ». Ancienne professeure assistante à Simon Fraser; Harvard College Fellow, MacDowell Fellow, Fulbright. Doctorante SACRe (ENS Paris).
Young Joo Lee is a South Korean artist in Paris working across animation, drawing, sculpture, performance & digital media. She has lived in Korea, Germany, the US, Canada, and France, shaping a practice that asks how women-centered, indigenous knowledge might repair ecological and social crisis. Rooted in drawing and writing, she blends mythology, archaeology, science, and pop culture into speculative worlds—using humor and contradiction to question dominant ideologies and invite encounters with “the other.” Former Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University; Harvard College Fellow, MacDowell Fellow, Fulbright recipient, she is currently in SACRe Doctoral Program at ENS Paris.
